Did you hear? Our school is one of the Active Schools pilot schools for the Beaverton School District! This means that we are committing to at least 60 minutes per day of physical activity. We do this through yoga, dancing, brain breaks, and tons of fun activities! We are part of this exciting movement in so many special ways!
Another EXCITING way we're hoping to get more active later this year is by exploring the Run! Jump! Fly! exhibit coming the Portland Children's Museum. The cost for this trip is pretty high, so we need your help! I have created a donorschoose project to get this funded for our class and Miss Amanda's class. If you haven't heard of donorschoose, please check it out! It is an amazing way for teachers to ask for what WE need for our classrooms, and people all over the world can make it possible! Click on the link below to see how you can help with this project. Even if your family can't help financially, you can spread the word! Please share our class's link. Anyone all over the world can contribute!
Help send the SRC to the Children's Museum!

One of Sexton Mountain's PE teachers, Mr. Miller, has been recognized as Oregon's Outstanding PE Teacher of the year! Congratulations Mr. Miller! He exemplifies this every day in the ways he encourages all kids to be active. Along with applying for our school to become an Active School pilot program, he got us a rock climbing wall! We got to climb for the first time today, and our kids rocked the rock wall!
